In 2011, a tsunami disabled the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear reactors, resulting in major power outages throughout Japan. Barney's Pumps was called to supply modular fuel management systems to support roughly 2 megawatts of power in the recovery efforts. These modular systems were supplied for global shipment, with the first 2 systems shipping in 4 weeks to meet the recovery timeline goals. We also supplied onsite startup services and technical assistance, ensuring a seamless transition from installation to operation. |
In 2013 Barney's Pumps was asked to join a design build team tasked with creating a 25MW Standby Emergency Power System for the $3.6B Baha Mar Resort. Our scope for this project included filtering bulk storage and offload fuel tanks while polishing and maintaining fuel quality across eight 12,000 gallon day storage tanks. This project included onsite startup and technical support, with continued preventative maintenance services provided to date. |
In 2019 Barney's Pumps worked directly with Stantec Engineers to design and furnish a Prefabricated Triplex Booster Pumping Station suitable for pumping potable water for Charlotte County Utilities. The Aurora pumps were certified as NSF/ANSI 61 while the piping, valves and fittings were in accordance with the latest AWWA requirements. Our Unitron Controls® – Division of Barney’s Pumps provided all of the control elements including the PLC Control Panel, VFDs, and System Integration. |
